Pi Kappa Delta and Social Media

Pi Kappa Delta is committed to using social media to reach current and alumni
members and to expand the reach of our programming, networking and
community service activities. You can contact our linked-in, YouTube, Flickr,
Facebook, MySpace and Twitter sites by clicking the links on the homepage. In
the future, these sites will be the best way for current and alumni members to
receive information about Pi Kappa Delta and to engage one another on a
regular basis.

Our student representatives will monitor the sites and regularly post content --
particularly before and after meetings, tournaments and conventions. Student
representatives are also preparing affinity groups for alumni and current members
to facilitate networking and to help members connect with one another. Coaches
should feel free to bounce tournament-related messages or alumni contact
requests to the site as needed. We anticipate that the use of social media will
create active sites of engagement for the entire Pi Kappa Delta community,
but we ask that members monitor their own usage of the site and maintain a
thoughtful and respectful attitude in all of their posts. Commercial use of any
of these sites is prohibited without the prior written approval of the National
Council. The use and distribution of copyrighted material is also prohibited.
Pi Kappa Delta reserves the right to restrict usage of its social media sites if any
member fails to adhere to appropriate usage requirements. Any views expressed
do not necessarily represent the views of Pi Kappa Delta, the National  Council
or its current or alumni members.

Is your chapter getting the most out of Social Media?

Use facebook, Linked-in and other social media tools to connect with alumni
and to encourage your current chapter members to engage with one-another.
Create a facebook fan page and send a friend request to Pi Kappa Delta's
national site. That way, messages can flow freely between your current and
alumni memebrs and the Pi Kappa Delta National Office. For suggestions on
social media as an alumni-relations or development tool, please contact
Phillip Voight at:
pvoight@gustavus.edu.
