The 44 National Convention and Tournament

1.         WHEREAS, the 44th National Tournament of Pi Kappa Delta has appreciated genuine hospitality in a positive
atmosphere of academic excellence and intercollegiate friendship, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the honorary
express gratitude to Local Host Gina Jensen, Professor Scott Jensen, Dean Debra Carpenter, the Webster School of
Communications, the Webster forensics team and the entire Webster University faculty-staff community for their
memorable support of the 2005 tournament-convention.



2.         WHEREAS, the reputation and strength of k Kappa Delta as an honorary society depend upon the dedication
and credibility of its membership, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the convention commend the talent, courtesy,
and dedication of the 2005 tournament competitors.



3.         WHEREAS the 2005 Pt Kappa Delta Tournament has been conducted by a staff of dedicated and professional
administrators, assistants and friends, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the convention gratefully recognize the
service of Director Scott Jensen and members of the National Tournament Committee (Robert Markstrom, Joshua
Compton, Tracy Frederick, Mark Hickman, John McCabe-Juhnke, Marty Most, Steven Venette, Kelly Larson, Thomas
Serfass, Amanda Graue, Jeff Stoppenhagen, Rachel Santine, Amy Veuleman, Phil Voight, Drew Wilson, Steven Collie)
for many hours given to students and Pi Kappa Delta.



4.         WHEREAS, the success of the 2005 National Tournament-Convention reflected the skillful and sacrificial
leadership of many individuals, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this convention express gratitude to President
Susan Milsap, National Secretary Bill Hill, and all members of the National Council of Pi Kappa Delta.



5.         WHEREAS, provincial participation was an important element of the 2005 tournament’s success, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED, that the convention express appreciation to the Province of the Heartland, Province Governor Jack
Rogers, and all chapters of the hosting province for loyal and influential support.



6.         WHEREAS, the service of others remains a vital dimension of Pi Kappa Delta’s history and success as an
honorary society, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the 2005 convention congratulate Professors Tony Allison,
Gary Horn and R. David Ray upon their induction into the Pi Kappa Delta Hall of Fame.



7.         WHEREAS Pi Kappa Delta continues to depend upon the support and dedication of alumni, THEREEFORE, BE
IT RESOLVED, that this convention recognize the invaluable service of the alumni of this convention in making the
tournament successful and rewarding for competitors.

8.         WHEREAS, Pi Kappa Delta recognizes student participation and professional coaching as basic requirements in
forensic activity, THEREFORE, BE. IT RESOLVED that the convention express appreciation to graduating seniors and
retiring forensic educators.

9.         WHEREAS, the success at the 44th National Convention-Tournament serves as motivation for continued
forensic growth and achievement in P1i Kappa Delta, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this convention anticipates
continued strong and enthusiastic representation of chapters and provinces at the Convention of 2007.
