THE OPERATION AND ORGANIZATION OF PI KAPPA DELTA











PKD operates on democratic principles. Supreme power is vested in the local chapter and the majority voice of the
delegates attending the province and national conventions. PKD is governed by a National Constitution and each local
chapter has one vote at the convention.
National officers are elected at biennial national conventions. These officers from the National Council who direct the
affairs of the organization in the interim between conventions. Province officers are elected on a regional level. Province
meetings are held on off-national years.

To retain active status, a chapter must pay its annual national and provincial dues, verify membership eligibility of each
person initiated into the local chapter, retain an active membership of five or more persons, and participate in forensic
activities on the provincial or national levels.
