| | PKD National Tournament/Convention Site Selection Bid Information Campus Facilities: - Minimum of 75 contest rooms available
- Two large rooms for tabulation
- Large and centrally located space for ballot distribution and collection
- Large and centrally located lounge areas for judges and contestants
- Sufficient on-campus food service during the tournament
- Adequate parking facilities for tournament participants and judges
- Evidence of success at hosting other large events on-campus
Campus and Administrative Support: - Letter of support from Senior-Administrator (must be included with bid)
- Financial or in-kind convention/tournament support such as providing the financial support or free services for printing the convention program, banquet program and results booklet, 5 computers for tabulation of tournament results, photocopying units as needed throughout the tournament, and various office supplies
- Janitorial service, campus security, and other related support without cost to Pi Kappa Delta
- Willingness to provide convention photographer and film
- Willingness to provide clerical assistants for pre-tournament/convention and tournament/convention duties
Judge Availability: - Approximately 25-30 full time judges or their equivalent (I.E. and Debate) donated by host and province
- Approximately 10- 15 full time judges or their equivalent (I. E. and Debate) hired judges available at a rate of $10.00 to $12.00 per round
Hotel Facilities: - 3 hotels in close proximity to host a 650-1000 person convention
- Availability of Room Rates (2 double beds) between $80.00 - $120.00
- Ability to block 150-250 hotel rooms
- Ability to block around100 double-double rooms
- A liberal comp room policy (no less than 10 comp rooms/suites)
- Moderately priced eating facilities in or around hotels
- Adequate parking facilities for convention/tournament participants
- Willingness to accommodate Summer National Council Meetings with reduced room rates
- Availability of transportation from and to major airport(s)
Convention Facilities (On-campus or at Hotel): - Minimum of 10 meeting rooms at least 4 of which must be able to seat 100-150 people
- General Business Meeting Room which can seat approximately 750 people
- Banquet Facility (sit-down meal) for approximately 1000 people (can be served buffet style)
- Large tournament and convention registration area
- Large area for convention reception
- Socializing facilities (e.g. pool) for convention participants
- Adequate parking facilities for convention participants
- Sit-down banquet cost per person of approximately $25.00-$30.00
- Evidence of success at hosting other large conventions
- Willingness to accommodate Summer National Council Meetings
- Availability of transportation from and to major airport(s)
Provincial Support (Other than judge support noted earlier): - Letter of support from Province Governor (must be submitted with bid
- Financial Contributions by the Province for Convention reception, flowers, discretionary funds, etc.
Miscellaneous: - Availability of shuttle service from hotel to campus at no cost to Pi Kappa Delta if deemed necessary
- Reasonable cost of shuttle per person if charges will be made
- Availability of in-kind or financial support from Convention Bureau, Chamber of Commerce, local business or industry
- Availability of tours, sight seeing, and local "ambiance"
- Availability of local site promotional/informational packets
